"We plan to enter the Android One platform to Indonesian, the Philippines and South Asia at the end of this year, with other countries following in 2015," said Sundar Pichai, Google's executive vice president who heads the division of Android.

Three local vendors of India are Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, has introduced Android One smartphone. Spice Android cell phone brand is One Dream UNO MI-498, A1 Canvas Micromax, Karbonn Sparkle and V.

All three have identical specifications, such as MediaTek 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a MicroSD slot, 5 megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front camera and a 1,700 mAh battery.
